Srinagar, July 15 (KNO) : National Conference on Monday condemned the killing of the personal security guard of a National Conference leader Syed Tauqeer in Anantnag, terming the attack dastardly. The party said such attacks won’t deter it from its mission of serving the people.

According to a statement issued to KNO, Party General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar while condemning the attack said such attacks won’t dent our resolve of serving the people of the state. “I pay my earnest tributes to the slain police constable Riyaz Ahmad who has lost his life in the line of duty. I express my union with the grief stricken family members of the slain Cop. I on behalf of my party pray for peace to his soul and much needed strength to the bereaved family to bear the inconsolable loss, “he said. As per the preliminary reports the miscreants had fired upon the PSO while the NC leader Syed Tauqeer Ahmad was inside a house interacting with party workers.

Meanwhile, party General Secretary visited the residence of slain cop Reyaz Ahmad at Newa, Pulwama to express his unison with the grief stricken family. He was accompanied by provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, Syed Shafi, Syed Tauqeer Ahmad, G N Ratanpuri, Ghulam Mohi Ud Din Mir, and Javaid Rahim Bhat. The visiting delegation expressed solidarity with the grief stricken family of the deceased cop. Sagar while concluding his visit said, “It is the Governor administration that is wholly and solely responsible for such incidents. Had the security of our various party colleagues not been downgraded, the incident could have been avoided.  Such an incident as has unfolded yesterday at Anantnag deflates the tall claims of governor administration on the improvement of the security situation.

It is not the first instance that NC functionaries have been attacked upon. Had the governor administration learnt lessons from the previous deadly attacks on political workers, the precious life of a PSO could have been saved.” Party general secretary said that the incumbent governor administration has miserably failed to provide security to the political workers, functionaries and activists. “I urge the governor administration to review the security requirement of the political workers.

I also demand a through inquiry into the series of attacks on NC workers that have taken place since 2015.” Party general secretary has also prayed for the speedy recovery of the two people that were injured in blast in Adigam village of District Kulgam.

Party general secretary has impressed upon the concerned agencies to ascertain the reasons of the blast. He has also impressed upon the district administration Kulgam to give best of medical treatment to the injured. Party’s provincial spokesperson, constituency in-charge Imran Nabi Dar has also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured at Adigam blast. He has urged the concerned agencies to establish reasons of the blast.(KNO)
